Executive Board Member

Pastor Chad Estep has been appointed to the Executive Board of WWNTBM. Bro. Estep has served on our Board of Reference since 2007. He has pastored Valley Baptist Church in Edinburg, VA, since 2015, where he previously served as assistant pastor under Bro. Jim Bailey since 1997. He and his wife, Becky, have three children: Jeremiah, LauraBecca, and Hunter.

Deputation Director

Bro. Jeremy Lockhart has recently been appointed as Director of Deputation for WWNTBM. He and his wife, Esther, have served with WWNTBM as missionaries in Brazil for the past ten years, where they have ministered alongside Omar and Tracey Schrock. The Lord has closed the door for them to return to Brazil but has opened up this new avenue of ministry for them to assist others in getting to the field. The Lockharts are graduates of Ambassador Baptist College and are sent out of Maranatha Baptist Church in Shelby, NC, with Pastor Jim Davidson. They are currently in the process of reporting to their supporting churches and have begun representing WWNTBM as well. They have four children: Allie (12), Bethany (10), Judah (8), and Levi (3). New Privacy Policy

WWNTBM is committed to securing the privacy of all individuals associated with our agency. Therefore, we have adopted a new privacy policy to guide our staff and to inform our missionaries concerning how information is shared. A copy of this policy is available on SecureCloud under the Security Protocols folder. If you have questions or concerns about your privacy, please contact our office.

SecureCloud Settings

With our move to placing Support Lists and Ledgers in SecureCloud, we are receiving more feedback on the use of this secure platform. One common concern is that many of you have begun receiving emailed activity logs. These emails are automatically sent by the software, as a way to inform you of new files shared with you, or changes in your folders. If you do not want to receive these emails, you can change it in your settings.

• Log in to your account.
• Click on your name in the upper right corner, then select “Personal” from the dropdown menu.
• Add your email address if you have not yet done so. This will aid in password recovery.
• Scroll to the bottom of the page, under the Activity section.
• Adjust your preferences in the “Mail” column. If you never want to be notified, be sure to uncheck every item on the list.
• Return to your main screen by clicking on “Personal” from the upper left corner, and select the “Files” icon from the dropdown menu.

Financial Report Reminder

As we enter the last quarter of the year, thoughts turn to year-end tax procedures. Many people begin thinking of last-minute deductions that will affect them. If you anticipate making large ministry purchases and you desire the purchase to be a deduction in the year 2017, you may wish to make the purchase by the end of November. Because of the way our W-2s are calculated, December expenses are “reimbursed” out of January income, so the tax benefit on your W-2 would actually be considered a 2018 reimbursement. Regardless of when the purchase is made, you will still receive a tax benefit. However, we wanted you to be aware of these deadlines as you plan your expenses over the next few months. REAL ID Update

In April 2017, we wrote about the future enforcement of “The REAL ID Act.” Starting January 22, 2018, state driver’s licenses presented at U.S. airports for ID purposes must be a “REAL ID” version. Otherwise, an alternative form of ID, such as a passport, will be required. Many federal agency websites, including the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice, have recently published updated information regarding the requirements and enforcement of these policies. State-specific DMV websites provide instructions for obtaining a “REAL ID.” Please take time to research how this issue may affect you in the future.

Summer Intern

We were thrilled to have Rene Pollack complete her graphics design internship with us this summer. Rene is a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Ocala, FL, with Pastor Michael West. She is a student at Pensacola Christian College. Rene helped us with several projects, including redesigning our application forms and creating new designs for kid-centered faith promise cards. She also assisted us with photography at FFW and has helped several of our missionaries with their design needs as well. If you have a design project that you need assistance with, you can contact her at [email protected]. Pray for her as she continues her education.

We have uploaded a Financial Status Report to your SecureCloud account. This is meant to show you the financial details that we have on file, such as your support estimate and the average amount of support you received this past quarter. This is information we provide to pastors who may call about your ministry. We ask that you update your support estimate once every four years, or as your lives and ministries change. Please review this information and contact us if you have any questions or changes.

As you raise support, please be sure to request that your supporters make checks payable to WWNTBM, and send checks to our PO Box rather than our street address. Our mailing address is:

Other options for giving are available online at wwntbm.com/give. Making checks payable to WWNTBM, rather than to the individual missionary, can alleviate the possibility of the church needing to issue a 1099 to the missionary at the end of the year. Special Projects

If you will be raising funds for a special project please be sure your pastor is aware and approves of the project. Then, please contact our Office in advance, or as soon as it is practical, to conform to IRS guidelines for receipting purposes. In order for us to maintain our tax-exempt status the Executive Board must vote on any special projects for which funds are received in our Office.

Ministry Bank Accounts

If your ministry has been chartered and established as a non-profit organization, we recommend having your ministry get a bank account in its name. Funds for purchases such as land may be able to be sent directly to your ministry, thus eliminating your personal tax liability. Please note that there are limitations to this option, and of course regular support could never be sent this way. Please contact our Office for more info. (Remember: all banking information for new accounts should only be sent to us via the Signal Private Messenger application or by a voice call to our regular Office number. This is to protect the security of your banking information.)

New Board of Reference Member

We would like to welcome Pastor David Fulp as a new member to the Board of Reference of WWNTBM. Pastor Fulp and his wife, Lisa, are from Madison, NC, where he has pastored the Good News Baptist Church for 19 years. They have been in ministry for over 30 years, serving in several locations in VA and NC. Mrs. Fulp teaches at the Gospel Light Christian School in Walkertown, NC. They are parents of our missionary, Stephanie Germano, as well as a son, David II, who is also in ministry.

 New Baby!

Congratulations to Nick and Lindsey Stelzig on the birth of Elliana Joyce Stelzig. Ellie was born May 31, and she weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. The Stelzigs are on deputation to church plant in Boston, MA. They have one older son, Gabriel, who is 2.

Mark Your Calendars

Now is the time to begin planning to attend next year’s Family Fellowship Week. We will meet June 18-21, 2018, with Pastor Barry Goodman and the Faith Baptist Church of Shelby, NC. If you are planning a furlough in 2018, please be sure to arrange your schedule so you can attend this meeting. It is truly the highlight of the WWNTBM year.

Europe Encouragement Conference

You are invited to attend our WWNTBM Encouragement Conference in Germany. We will hold this conference August 20-24, 2018.

This conference is open to all World Wide families. We anticipate board members and missionaries from North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East who may come. There will be time for leisure, preaching, shopping, and fellowship.

The meeting will be held an hour and a half north of Munich, close to the area where Lisa Kendrick and Keith and Julia Klaus are serving. You will be able to fly into Munich and take a train to the conference location. More details will be available as we get closer, but we want you to begin making plans now to attend this unique event.

 

Reformers Unanimous

Memorial Baptist Church has a thriving RU ministry, seeking to help individuals break the chains of addiction. Encouragement Meetings

Have you joined one of our encouragement meetings yet? We have had some great feedback from those who have attended, or who have listened to the recordings. We invite you to join in and be uplifted!

Weekly meetings, geared primarily towards those on deputation, are held each Friday at 10:00 a.m. (Eastern Daylight Time). Meetings geared primarily towards those in a field-based ministry are currently being held twice each month. These are scheduled for 9:00 a.m. (Eastern Daylight Time) on the second Tuesday morning of each month, and for 9:00 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time) on the fourth Tuesday evening of each month. Questions about how to join one of the meetings may be directed to Laura Cmaylo.

New Baby

Congratulations to Stephen and Charity Jenney on the birth of their newest baby, Noah Charles. He was born on May 1, and weighed 9 pounds 6 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. The Jenneys are on deputation to go to the Southwestern United States. Noah is their 3rd son, and joins his brothers Judson (2) and Samuel (1).

 

 

 

 

New Missionaries

Stephen and Anelly Villarreal have been accepted with World Wide as our newest missionaries to Mexico. They are sent out of the Temple Baptist Church in Laurens, SC, with Pastor David Johnston. Bro. Villarreal grew up in Mexico, where his parents are missionaries. Anelly (pronounced Áhnalee) is also from Mexico. They graduated from West Coast Baptist College and had their civil wedding ceremony this past month. They will have their religious ceremony in August. Their plans are to go to Mexico to serve as furlough replacements for his parents for one year, before returning to the US to begin deputation. Pray for them as they begin their new life and ministry together!

 

Smothers Wedding

Congratulations to Joel Smothers and Noel Ring, who will be married on Saturday, June 10! Joel has already been traveling on deputation with World Wide. Noel grew up in Brazil where her family continues to serve as missionaries. She has been teaching at the Puerto Rico Baptist College for the past two years. Please be in prayer for this young couple as they begin their life together, and as they raise support for their future ministry in Brazil. They plan to work with the Dickens family.

The God of the Impossible

“The Israelites could not conquer Canaan if they could not get to it, and getting to it required taking an impossible path–across the raging Jordan River. We too are sometimes called in our ministries to do what seems impossible. We must prepare to walk the impossible path by clinging to God’s promises. Uplift Podcasts

World Wide has launched a new website–uplift.wwntbm.com–where we will publish podcasts of the weekly Deputation Meetings, as well as the bi-weekly Field Meetings. Field Encouragement Meetings

We have started bi-weekly conference calls to provide a time of fellowship, encouragement, and prayer for our missionaries on the field. Our desire is for this to be a time of connection and strengthening as we seek to build each other up in the ministries to which the Lord has called us. We currently have meetings scheduled for 9:00 a.m. (Eastern Daylight Time) on the second Tuesday morning of each month, and for 9:00 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time) on the fourth Tuesday evening of each month. Hopefully, this will give a variety of individuals in different time zones the opportunity to participate. The meetings typically last approximately 30 minutes, and they include a brief challenge from Bro. O’Malley and from one of our Board Members, as well as a time of prayer. REAL ID: New Travel Documents May Be Needed Soon

Please be advised that US airports may potentially begin enforcing new policies regarding the use of driver’s licenses as forms of accepted ID for flying purposes starting January 22, 2018. The issue termed “The REAL ID” originates from the REAL ID Act passed by Congress in 2005. In effect, state driver’s licenses may no longer be valid for travel within the US unless the issuing state complies with the new federal regulations. Though passports will continue to be acceptable forms of ID, it is important to be informed on the matter and how it may affect you in the future.

New Baby

Congratulations to Fred III and Brittany Daniel on the birth of their newest baby, Jedidiah Daniel. He was born on April 9 and weighed 7.4 pounds. The Daniels serve in Mexico. Jedidiah is their 7th child.

Graduations

Several in our missions family are graduating this spring. Please be in prayer for them as they make transitions in their lives and seek the Lord’s will concerning future plans.

John Bergman will graduate from Eagle Heights Christian School in Kansas City on May 25. He is still praying about future plans.

Kody Boylston will graduate from high school this spring. He plans to work for a year before attending ABC next fall.

Jeremiah Estep will graduate from Valley Baptist Christian School in Edinburg, VA. He plans to attend PCC this fall and pursue a degree in secondary education.

Sandy Hanna will be graduating from high school. She plans to move to the United States to study nursing at PCC.

Priscilla Milgrim will graduate from Kauai Christian Academy on June 2nd. She plans to begin working on requirements to become a Flight Attendant.

Josh Quinlan recently completed his degree from the University of Guam. He continues to assist in his parents’ ministry in Guam.

Rachel Quinlan graduated some time ago; she is planning to go to PCC this fall.

Stephen Quinlan recently completed his degree from the University of Maryland online. He continues to assist in his parents’ ministry in Guam.

Angelina Zimmer will graduate from BJU with a degree in health sciences. She is praying about pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health.

Jacob Zimmer has graduated from high school and plans to attend BJU this fall.

Doctrinal Agreements

If you have submitted your doctrinal agreement statement, your new card for 2017-2018 is now available for you to download and print from your SecureCloud folder. If you have not yet submitted your annual agreement, please click here, or email Naomi Torberson as soon as possible, indicating that you have read and are still in agreement with our Articles of Faith. If you have questions or concerns, please contact John O’Malley.

Charitable Contributions

Charitable contributions may be carried into future years if they cannot be deducted in the current year because they exceed your adjusted gross-income limits. You may be able to deduct the excess in each of the next five years until it is used up, but not beyond that time. Details of this option are available in IRS Pub 526. We encourage you to discuss this possibility with your tax preparer, as it may be beneficial during furloughs when the Foreign Income Exclusion may not apply.

New Baby!

Congratulations to Michael and Nora Deatrick on the birth of Corban Matthew, who was born on March 18th. He weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces and was 20 inches long. We rejoice that Corban was born healthy and is doing well! Please continue to pray for Nora, as she is still having some ongoing medical issues. The Deatricks are nearing the end of their deputation to go to the Solomon Islands, and are praying about the timing of their departure.

A Day in the Office

These past few months have been full of unique experiences for our Office Staff. We’ve had several of our missionaries visit, and we have also had several off-site trips to visit and assist different churches. If you are ever in the area please come by and see us. Tax Notes

As you prepare to submit your financial documents to your tax preparer, here are some things you may want to remember to give them:

• List of dates you were in the US vs. out of the country
• Details of any housing expenses
• Information on any retirement plans
• Information on any investments
• Information about any foreign bank accounts on which you are a signatory
• Details of any family births or deaths (Names, dates, and SSNs)
• Details of estimated taxes submitted
• Information about your health coverage and medical expenses
• W-2s, 1099’s, and other tax forms received
• Information about tuition and fees paid for a child in college (including name and SSN of the child) and a copy of Form 1098T if received.
• Details of charitable contributions

Encouragement Opportunity

For several months, we have been hosting a weekly virtual meeting for those on deputation. This is a 30 minute call that is a time of fellowship, encouragement, and prayer. (Click here to listen to past recordings.) We would like to expand this opportunity to all of our missionaries, as a means of building community within our missions family. Our thoughts are to offer two different meetings per month, to allow for participation regardless of time zone. Our goal is for this to be a time of connection, encouragement, strengthening, and prayer as we seek to build each other up in the work to which God has called us. Women of World Wide

You asked – we answered! We have been approached several times about finding a means by which ladies in our missions family can connect with each other to share ideas, struggles, encouragement, and fellowship. We have launched a special Facebook group called Women of World Wide. This will be a closed group, open only to ladies within our missions family. To join, email Laura Cmaylo and request to join the group. Once your request is approved, join in the conversation! Feel free to share prayer requests, recipes, recommendations, and ask questions of the other missionary wives in the group. We hope this will be a help and encouragement to our ladies!

New Babies!

Congratulations to Tim and Kristin Stalcup on the birth of Timothy Richard, Jr., who was born on February 5th. He weighed 8 pounds and was 20 inches long. The Stalcups also have a two-year-old daughter, Anna Faith. They are on deputation to minister to the Muslims in New York City.

 

 

 

 

Congratulations as well to John and Sarah on the birth of their second child, Eliana Noelle, on February 21st. She was 19.2 inches long and weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces. She joins her older brother, John Gabriel, who is 19 months. Everyone is doing well! Keep them in prayer as they continue to serve overseas.

Benefits of Financial Reports

The Monthly Financial Report (MFR) is the tool that missionaries can use to become accountable to WWNTBM for their reimbursable expenses, rather than having all funds listed as salary. Over the course of 2016, 80% of those eligible chose to submit MFRs. By doing so, they were able to reduce their W-2 Wages by a combined average of 32.27%. If you are not currently utilizing MFRs and would like information about how to begin, please contact our office.

Communication Tools

Our goal is to communicate with you in the best and easiest way available for you. Many of our missionaries use a variety of apps to communicate easily with those on their field, as well family who are far away. If you have a tool you are using for communication such as WhatsApp or WeChat, and you would like to be able to communicate with the office using this tool, please contact us with your information, and we will connect with you there.

Easter Traditions

Over the Christmas season we featured Christmas traditions from several mission fields on our social media accounts. We would like to do the same thing for Easter this year. If your ministry has a special outreach or your field has an unique tradition for Easter that you’d like to share, please let us know.
