Due to receipting requirements, we cannot do this in the month of December. As a result, please be aware that your December support total may be higher than normal, while your January support total may be lower than normal. Please be sure to plan ahead for this!

Upcoming Financial Reports

Please prepare now to ensure that your year-end financial reports are submitted on time. October reports are due December 1, November reports are due January 1, and December reports are due January 15. If it is possible for you to submit reports before the due dates, that would greatly assistant our staff. Please note, it is fine to submit a report without waiting for the Line 1 income figure. We can add that for you as needed. Reports should be submitted to [email protected]. Please be sure to include all receipts for expenses $75 and over at the same time you submit your report so there are no delays in processing. Thank you for your help in these areas.

WWNTBM of Canada

World Wide maintains an office in Canada, to assist our missionaries in raising funds from Canadian donors. We are grateful for Ernie and Darlene Bauserman, who have managed this office for many years. The address has recently changed. Please be sure to update this in your records.

Financial Report Reminder

As we enter the last quarter of the year, thoughts turn to year-end tax procedures. Many people begin thinking of last-minute deductions that will affect them. If you anticipate making large ministry purchases and you desire the purchase to be a deduction in the year 2019, you may wish to make the purchase by the end of November. Because of the way our 1099s are calculated, December expenses are “reimbursed” out of January income, so the tax benefit on your 1099 would actually be considered a 2020 reimbursement. Regardless of when the purchase is made, you will still receive a tax benefit. However, we wanted you to be aware of these deadlines as you plan your expenses over the next few months.

Please keep in mind the due dates for financial reports. With the holidays approaching it is easy to let these slip past, but our CPA has encouraged us we need to keep to the due dates, per IRS regulations. The best situation is for you to report all ministry expenses through WW, thus providing the fullest tax benefit. With the change to 1099s this year, if you do not submit a MFR on time, you can still submit it on your personal taxes on a Schedule C. If you are not currently submitting financial reports we suggest you consider this option. If you have questions about this, please contact Naomi Torberson.

Lodging Suggestion

Looking for an alternative to a hotel? Check out Airbnb.com. Depending on the location and length of time, this may be cheaper than a hotel, and can include benefits such as a fully-equipped kitchen.

New Baby

Lucy Charlotte Stelzig was born on October 8. She weighed 7 pounds 13 ounces and was 20 inches long. Lucy is the second daughter of Nick and Lindsey Stelzig, who are church planters in the Boston, MA area. The Stelzigs have two older children: Gabe (4) and Ellie (2). Pray for them as they begin a new church plant in the coming months.

Dates to Know

October 1 – August financial reports will be due

June 15-18, 2020 – Family Fellowship Week in Kinston, NC

Our Bank has Changed!

We are now using Home Trust, a local bank that will enable us to better serve our missions family. Please be aware of the following items as we make this transition.

  • In order to have next-day funds available in a US Bank, our office must receive the request by 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Requests received after that will take two business days to show in your US bank.
  • We will not be making banking transfers during the week of September 3-6, to ensure there are no issues during the transition.
  • Starting on September 9, please be aware that transfers from WWNTBM may appear somewhat differently on your statements.

Identity Protection

Risks of identity theft continue to rise. Awareness of how your information is stored and used is key to protecting yourself. World Wide strives to protect the information you entrust to us. Here are ways you can further protect yourself.

    • Click this link to watch an Identity Theft Prevention video from our bank.
    • Do not send sensitive information (account numbers, balances, or financial requests) to anyone via email.
    • Utilize our Signal Private Messenger app to request transfers to your account, or call our main office number at 704-730-1440 to speak with us directly. If you do not have Signal and need to contact us after hours, you may call the main number and leave a voicemail.
    • Utilize our SecureCloud file transfer system to share documents with sensitive information.
    • Note: Monthly Financial Reports typically do not contain sensitive information such as account numbers. For submitting those reports, please use the email address [email protected] instead of SecureCloud.

    Trip Insurance

We recently heard of a situation where a missionary traveling on a short-term trip needed to be evacuated to the US for medical needs. The process was lengthy and expensive! If you are traveling internationally, you may wish to consider trip insurance. Some credit card companies offer policies for trips purchased with their card. Most airlines offer options at the time of purchasing tickets. Our staff has also used Seven Corners Insurance. They cover overseas medical care in addition to trip cancellation or evacuation needs. They will also provide medical insurance for those coming to the US for short periods of time if the individual’s overseas insurance does not cover US needs.

    Birth Announcement!

Hudson Michael McKinney was born on August 15. He weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces and was 21 inches long. Hudson is the third son of Jacob and Shera McKinney and joins his brothers Ryland (6) and Landon (4). The McKinneys are finishing their deputation and hope to leave for their first term in Bolivia early in 2020.

That same year, Calvary Baptist Church of New Bern hosted the first annual Family Fellowship Week. While the faces have changed through the years, what has not changed is the focus on encouragement and fellowship during the meeting. Click here to see what others have said about attending Family Week. June 15-28, 2020, New Testament Baptist Church of Kinston will co-host the 50th Annual meeting along with Calvary of New Bern.
